An exhibition at a Victoria art gallery will close after today.

Entitled Paintwork#2, the display will be open at SW1 Gallery in Cardinal Place from 12pm to 6pm today.

Fire strikes Mayfair restaurant

A blaze broke out a Mayfair restaurant, damaging part of the basement.

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters tackled a fire at the Queen Street restaurant, on Monday morning.

Motorbike demonstration planned

Demonstrators are expected to meet in Westminster to protest against motorbike parking charges introduced in the borough.

A group of bikers from No to Bike Parking Fees campaign, and other organisations, is due to meet in Trafalgar Square at 6.15pm on Monday, May 11.

Fundraisers will take to the paths of Hyde Park on Sunday.

The Big Spring Walk, which starts at 10.30am, will be held in aid of Age Concern and Help the Aged.
