Circus comes to Pimlico

Clowns, magicians and storytellers will be just part of the fun at a circus-themed event in Pimlico.

From 1pm to 4.30pm on July 11, a free festival will be held for the under fives at Tate Britain, in Millbank.

The event, named Tiny Tate, welcomes children from the boroughs of Westminster, Southwark and Lambeth, and any older brothers and sisters too.

Activities are all free and include face painting, listening to stories told by Graham Naiken, making clown costumes, creating big top tents and helping build a circus in the gallery, stretching and bending like an acrobat with yoga and relaxation, and making circus performance props.

This event will be followed by Loud Tate on September 26, for 13 to 25 year olds, and Spooky Tate on October 31, for five to 12 year olds.

Tiny Tate has been organised in partnership with SouthWest Fest, Westminster libraries, Westminster children's centres and Westminster Children's Society.
