Pimlico police warn of Christmas crime

Posted by Juliet Eysenck on Nov 23, 09 02:46 PM in News

Police officers will be visiting cafés, restaurants and shops in Pimlico to remind people about crime in the run-up to Christmas.

During December, the number of thefts tends to rise with the increase in festive shopping as people are carrying and spending more money.

Officers from the Warwick Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) will also be setting up two special Christmas crime prevention desks, offering advice to members of the public and their families and answering any questions.

The first takes place on December 9, from 2pm to 8pm, at the Queen Mother Sports Centre, in Vauxhall Bridge Road.

The second will be held at Sainsbury's supermarket in Wilton Road on December 11, from 6pm to 8pm.

Sergeant Chris Sadler, team leader for Warwick SNT said: "Our aim is to reduce thefts of personal belongings and make the Christmas shopping experience trouble free for people visiting Warwick Ward.

"Christmas is a special time for friends and families and we will endeavour to make it as crime free as possible."

Warwick ward SNT can be contacted on 020 8721 2420.
