Abdelaziz HilaliA Lisson Grove man who was caught trying to deal cocaine has been jailed for three years.

Abdelaziz Hilali, 25, of Grendon Street, was stopped by police officers at Notting Hill Gate tube station.

They had overheard a member of the public talking on the phone about buying drugs and waited in the area.

London Underground is introducing the move as it says Oyster cards and internet ticket sales have been so successful that just one in 20 journeys involves a ticket office purchase.

Westminster Council hopes the proposed measures will cut the waiting time for low-income working applicants by up to three years.

Under the plans, working households will be defined as those where the main applicant or partner are in work, have a permanent or temporary contract or are self-employed.

Joseph Dada, 51, of no fixed address, will appear at Brent Magistrates' Court.

He is accused of being involved in a collision between a car and a motorbike in Salusbury Road near the junction with Brooksville Road, at around 10am on January 25.

Budding DJs take to the airwaves

Avenues FM takes to the airwavesTune into 87.9FM during February and you will hear the voice of young people in Queen's Park.

The radio airwaves will be taken over by budding DJs from Avenues Youth Club, in Third Avenue, for the whole month.

Dernel Gabriel, who lives on the Mozart Estate, is behind a team of three lining up potential presenters to take up time slots on the radio show.

VICTORIA: The work of 10 up and coming artists will go on display at the SW1 Gallery, in Cardinal Place, from February 3 to 26.

The On the Brink exhibition will showcase, in a variety of media, pieces by Elena Damiani, Dexter Dymoke and Rowena Harris among others.

BAYSWATER: If New Year's resolutions to quit smoking and drinking alcohol haven't quite worked out, help is at hand at Paddington Library in Porchester Road.

From 11.30am to 3pm on February 3, community practitioners from the Health Improvement Team will be offered free support and addiction advice.

The event is free and advance booking is not necessary.

Generous guests staying in an upmarket Bayswater hotel have donated almost £2,500 to those less fortunate.

Throughout November and December last year, people staying at the Lancaster London hotel, in Lancaster Terrace, had a discretionary £1 added to their bills.

More than 40 per cent agreed to make the donation, bringing the total amount raised to £2,443.

VICTORIA: Young violinists from London Music Master's Bridge Project will give a short performance of their favourite tunes at a special concert at Victoria Library, in Buckingham Palace Road, at 11.30am on February 11.

The children have been playing for three years and have already taken to the stage at the Royal Festival Hall and St John's Church, in Smith Square.
