Free wifi across the borough

Posted by Emma Heseltine on Jan 10, 12 11:17 AM in News in brief

Visitors and residents in Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea can enjoy free wifi access following a landmark deal between the councils and network operator O2.

The deal will result in the largest free wireless hub in Europe, making it available to millions of people.

It will run at no cost to the councils or the taxpayer, and is part of the authorities' plans to ensure that the millions of visitors coming to London for the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics have the best possible experience, while delivering long-term benefits for businesses.

Free wifi access will be available throughout both boroughs once the Metro wireless network is installed on the street furniture from this month.

We'd like to hear from you.
