A community radio station is taking over the airwaves for the 16th year with a lively schedule of programmes.

The Avenues Youth Project's hugely popular in-house radio station, Avenues FM 87.7 is returning to broadcast live from February 6 until March 4 from the youth club in Harrow Road.

In the 16 years that Avenues FM has been broadcasting, it has given a voice to both young people and the wider community, and this year the station is giving the mic to a number of organisations, businesses, groups and individuals.

Among the groups contributing to the schedule are Just for Kids Law, Paddington Arts, Westminster Drugs Project, Core Trust and CALM mental health charity.

London CALM co-ordinator Dan Taylor said: "We are delighted to be backing Avenues FM and their programme of community led broadcasts over February and March.

"We're keen to get our message across to young men in different communities, and we're glad Avenues are helping us do that."

Avenues' team of presenters will be discussing community issues through interviews and a mix of programming, including a debate with an invited panel of speakers on February 20 at 7pm.

We'd like to hear from you.
