THE Beethoven Centre has asked the Chronicle to make readers aware of a number of events taking place during this half term week.

THE proposed closure of a club for the elderly in St John's Wood has been branded 'cruel'.

The eye-catching piece opposite the Pop Up Cinema, theatre and market at Portobello Green is signed by well-known graffiti artist Paul Don Smith, who has been a part of the graffiti scene since the 1980s.

He has been commissioned by the likes of Ruby Wax, Ian Brown, Jason Flemyng and Roots Manuva and has been given United Artist status by one of graffiti's pioneers, Duster from New York. East London is the usual stomping ground for Don Smith, who grew up in Borneo.

Westminster Council has asked Foundation66, a London-based charity, to work with older residents who may be drinking too much.

Women on fire in Marylebone car park

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being found on fire in a Marylebone car park.
Six fire engines and 30 firefighters were called to a car blaze in the NCP car park, in Marylebone Road, at 4.10pm on Wednesday evening.
Around 150 people were evacuated from nearby buildings and the women was taken to hospital suffering from burns.

PIMLICO teacher Gareth Morris has just entered the final stage of his mammoth cycle across Africa.
